Ultimate SEO's Story

A Top Rated SEO Freelancer

Matt Leffler, SEO Frelancer

I started working as a freelancer frankly out of necessity. I had moved back to my hometown of Louisville, KY from Chicago and was able to keep my job.  A year after leaving Chicago I was laid off and found myself living outside of my professional environment.

I went ahead and interviewed for those help desk positions, instructional designers and software trainer positions but in every case the position offered less challenges, about half the previous positions salary.  Louisville claims to be possibility city but it became a joke to me how impossible it was to find comparable work.  I was an ice hockey player living in Phoenix Arizona.

I’d have moved back to Chicago but was weary  of relocating to a more expensive market without a job.

I’d always been interested in cloud computing and I knew Amazon with AWS and Google with GCP needed software trainers so I set out to learn those platforms and needed “use cases” to guide my self teaching.

I’m not sure how I stumbled across Upwork but it seemed the best option.  An opportunity to make money, where I was, and using the clients needs as my tutorials for WordPress, cloud computing and eventually SEO.

It was slow starting I didn’t really land my first client that paid more than a couple hundred dollars till after the first three months.

To show clients what I could do I spent those three months building my own sites, one after another all on cloud servers I created.  I paid for AWS, Google Cloud Platform, cPanel and other tools out of pocket and scraped by on a shoe string budget.  If I didn’t get a job to build an ecommerce site, Id go ahead and build an ecommerce site.  If I didn’t get a job for building backlinks I’d go ahead and build backlinks.  I used client job requests as hypothetical case studies.

Since the start though I’ve had a dedication and determination to learn and grow and Upwork eventually started to pay off with more client engagements and opportunities.  I always knew that reputation was everything and exceeding client expectations was key to long term growth.

I started off as “Rising Talent” and quickly became “Top Rated” once enough time was banked.  I’ve been top rated every week for over a year now.

Ultimate SEO has become an extension of this experience and is an Upwork agency.  I’ve built teams to carry tasks for larger projects and these teams formed the nucleus of Ultimate SEO.

Ultimate SEO became an LLC in August of 2019. I’m dedicated to seeing it grow and provide more opportunities to people I meet as either a great place to work or a great place to hire for your work

I’m proud to say that former and current employees said their work laptop was their first computer. We’ve hired people that hadn’t always been given the easiest opportunities.  One such employee was a 19 yr old father who was homeless just months before working with us who’s goals were to get his drivers license and eventually move out of the home he had been placed at by a charitable group.

I knew I could teach someone computer skills but I couldn’t teach them the will to overcome what others might have thought them capable of…I couldn’t teach them pride, independence or confidence.  What I could do was give them a chance to learn it for themselves.

Ultimate SEO offers free tools, advice and information on popular SEO topics and rank worthy skills. You may be an SEO expert or a beginner but in all things we can always learn from each others unique experiences. Look For New Clients When You’re At Your Best – Ultimate Upwork Freelance Advice

Longevity isn’t long for freelancers who work fast and know what they are doing. Conversely if clients are likely to remove you once they are doing well, what value does pay for performance bring? This is the first entry of a series on being a freelancer. It seems like, and I agree it makes little sense, but when your work, over several months has lead to the best possible outcome for the client and you’ve begun meeting and exceeding their goals, be ready for it to end.  Now in SEO the projects are never ending, there are always more things that can be done.  But as your work bears fruit you may want to look out and start interviewing new clients. Examples I’ve experienced: In 2019 after working together for several months in increasingly important roles a client who was contracting 100% of my time. (Note…rule #1 never give 100% …

Optimizing For Site Speed: Page Load To SEO Cloud Server Infrastructure

TrueInfluence.com has been an Ultimate SEO client for several months now. During that time a central project has been to deliver the companies web pages in three seconds or less.TrueInfluence is a data intelligence marketing organization. IntentBase is a product of theirs and they are focused heavily in lead generation and demand generation. The TrueInfluence site scored the expected failing grade with Think Google, Pingdom and GTMetrix.com. It also failed GTMetrix in site optimization. In the end it took up to twelve seconds to load their homepage of multiple layers of graphics and animations.Predicting a company’s next clients is a data driven science. They consume 60 million pieces of data a day to fuel that intent data. As a B2B lead generation provider they are in a highly competitive world but their site speed wasn’t doing them any favors. It is typical though where a technology focused organization becomes hyper focused on …

Just today I received a long email complimenting me on the site (which one I dont know) but they always conclude with a suggested mention of site xyz.com and its article on the matter.  And I appreciate those and do feel that the value of this site increases with the more diverse information.  But its diverse information that adds value, me going into an existing article to add a competing link is not really provided a diverse view of the subject just an additional exit page from this site. Theres actually a lot of these messages that filter in throughout the week. If I spend the time to add the links where they want it would probably consume half a day read messages, finding article, review their link, add it to mine and now to the next.  Its also questionable how long that material is going to be up before …

Finding The Question Is The SEO Keyword

Picking The Best Keywords For Your Site

What is the best burger in town? Thats your keyword, not your burger brand. Keywords For Google Ranking SEO efforts always start out with the simplest goal. Every web site wants to rank for their name. UltimateSEO.org for instance, most people would say how does it rank for Ultimate SEO? But thats honestly not of any value, think about it … the only people searching Ultimate SEO are those who already know about you. More likely you’re the only one searching your brand name unless your a huge company. Finding Your Keywords Your name is what I call a vanity keyword. Others will call it a “Branded Keyword.” It would be great to rank for it but its only for your peace of mind. In a recent election I had to explain to the candidate that ranking for his name would be nice but wouldnt he rather rank for every …

Say you visit my site I give you a cookie and it has a number I assigned to you.  Your 777.  You come back a day later and your computer shows your cookie and I know that 777 was here yesterday so you’ve …

Disavowing theglobe.net bad backlinks from Sweden

theglobe.net What’s worse?  The crappy website they have with no content and just super spammy links or the fact that you nor I ever asked for that bad backlink?  The fact that the charge to delete a link to you at $35 a link shows how they crash your backlink party.  But hey, Google knows this right, they wouldn’t hurt your site still…wrong! Monetized Bad Backlink Site With Spam Links I wish we could collect money like a nonprofit from SEOs everywhere and raise the $10,000,000 asking price of theglobe.com and just turn it off.  Why is it I hate theglobe.com so much?  Cause their links are bad.
